How I Work

Straightforward, from first contact to finishing up.

No surprises, no subcontracting out the parts I'd rather not deal with. A clear process and a consistent standard throughout.

01

First contact

A phone call, WhatsApp message, or email. I'll ask a few questions to understand the scope and whether photos would help. I'll tell you honestly if it's not something I'd take on — rather than let you wait on a quote that doesn't come.

02

Assessment visit

For anything beyond a minor adjustment, I'll visit before quoting. I need to understand what I'm actually dealing with — materials, access, condition of surrounding work. This is how I avoid surprises for both of us once the job is underway.

03

Clear, honest quote

I'll confirm what I've found and what I'd propose, with a fixed price or a defined maximum. If something might add to the cost, I'll say so before we agree anything. I don't price low to win the work and adjust later.

04

The work

I arrive when I say I will. I work methodically, keep things as tidy as the job allows, and let you know if anything unexpected comes up before I change course. Trade-grade materials throughout — not whatever's cheapest that morning.

05

Sign-off and payment

Before I leave, we walk through the work together. I won't ask for payment until you're satisfied with what's been done. If something isn't right, I'll sort it.

Principles

What I won't compromise on

I work alone

I don't subcontract work out. You engage me, and I do the job. That means a consistent standard and a single point of accountability — which matters when something needs following up.

I use the right materials

Good fixings, appropriate timber grades, proper sealants and adhesives. It costs a little more, but the work lasts — and I'm not coming back to repair something I cut corners on.

I manage the scope properly

I don't take on more than I can deliver to my own standard. If a job genuinely requires a specialist, I'll tell you — rather than attempt work outside what I do well.
